There are many games with an element of luck – games with dice, cards, dominoes or letters. Some people believe these games are “worse”, unworthy of study and you can’t by a true master in such games because everything depends on luck. I would like to refute this image. Games with the random element can be very interesting and they can build your brain, but in a different way than purely strategic games. Besides in practice, even in games with no random elements, there is some element of luck.

Czy gry z elementem losowym rozwijają umysł?

Istnieje wiele gier, w których szczęście ma znaczenie. Najczęściej są to gry z kością, gry karciane albo np. gry dominowe czy słowne. Niektórzy uważają te gry za gorsze, niewarte studiowania bo wszystko zależy w nich od szczęścia. Chciałbym obalić ten pogląd. Gry z elementem losowym  mogą być bardzo ciekawe i rozwijające, tylko rozwijają inne cechy umysłu niż gry czysto strategiczne. Poza tym nawet w grach bez elementów losowych tak naprawdę istnieje pewien czynnik losowy.

Cribbage is really very… English card game.

It has not only English history (described below), but also “English soul”. This game is somehow noble. You can relax with it, but you need to think during play. This is not a game for idiots, and not without reason you can buy books about cribbage. This game is somehow not suitable for gambling, but of course  you can play any game for money.

Kribidż, kribydż albo cribbage – jak w to grać?

Słowa “kribidż” lub “kribydż” oznaczają starą angielską grę karcianą. Niektórzy specjaliści od gier uważają, że nie powinno się mówić “kribidż” ale stosować oryginalną angielską pisownię “cribbage“. Ba! Spolszczone słowo “kribidż” jest niedopuszczalne w grach słownych takich jak scrabble, choć niewątpliwie istnieje gra określana jako kribidż.
